Hi, I’m Kristin! I help eager tourists navigate travel post-Pandemic. I am a life-long traveler: Growing up in a military family, I took my first flight abroad at age four and spent my childhood touring Europe. My enthusiasm for experiencing new places only grew as I did. I took my first cruise in 2000 and fell in love with sailing the ocean and exploring foreign ports.

Cruising appealed to me so much that I accepted a job with Disney Cruise Line after college. I lived and worked onboard the Disney cruise ships for five exciting years! Even after I returned to land for a new career, I continued to cruise as a guest with all the major cruise lines. I visited the Hawaiian islands for the first time in 2008 (on a cruise of course!). Hawaii is still one of my top travel destinations to this day. No matter how many trips I take, I can never get enough!

To me, the ability to travel is the ultimate freedom that everyone deserves. Yet, navigating the details and the cost of travel can be frustrating in a post-Pandemic world struggling with inflation. I created The Bargain Chasing Tourist hoping to share my travel expertise and my knack for finding great deals. I have a unique travel perspective because I’ve experienced both worlds: as a cruise ship crew member, I helped create magical vacations for travelers of all ages. Now, years later, I’m the tourist and mom seeking amazing travel experiences for my family!
